Maafa Suite 2009 Cast Call

We are getting ready for that time again.   Maafa Suite 2009 will be here before you know.   Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity to impact your community.   We are looking forward to seeing you all at the cast call on Friday, October 24 at 7:00 pm. Riddim & Runway…Music & Fashion!

King Leo Promotions presents
“Riddim & Runway… Music & Fashion!”
A benefit Fashion Show and Concert

Ft. Myers - September 21, 2008: Tantalize your sense of sight and sound with hot fashion, live music, dancing and more! The “Riddim Runway” event is a fusion of live music and West Indian & Urban Reggae fashions for young adults.

The main stage will feature a celebrity fashion designer showcase from reggae wear trendsetters Cooyah, Riddim Driven, Eye Collection, Big Up Clothing, Yes Lioness, Rasta Roots and couture lines like R. Milton, Patrick W. and many more. Guests will enjoy model appearances by D-Imprint Modeling Troupe and reggae sensation Ky-Enie, Keisha Martin, Ft Myers’ own Krazired and Kofie and Naples finest, The Sheffield Crew.

This star studded event will be held Sunday September 21st 2008 at 6:30 pm at one of Southwest Florida’s premier locations, Coconuts Waterfront Bar and Grille, located at 3448 Marinatown Lane, North Fort Myers, FL 33903 (inside the Marinatown Yacht Harbour).

COLOURS SCHOOL OF THE ARTS NOW REGISTERING STUDENTS AT NEW BEGINNINGS MINISTRIES.

Colours School of the Arts announces its fall open house to be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 10:00am to 1:00pm.  The school will offer a diverse selection of stylistic dance forms including: Traditional West African, Ballet, Contemporary, Liturgical and Hip Hop.

Colours School of the Arts is a not-for-profit 501©3 organization entering into its ninth year of operation. Financial assistance from the City of Fort Myers has afforded us the opportunity to offer some scholarships to dedicated students.  Students interested in registering for fall classes should come to New Beginnings Ministries at 505 Alabama Road on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 10:00am. A VARIETY OF COLOURS’ FLAVORS

Colours School of the Arts of Southwest Florida, Inc. invite you to join them for an evening of showcasing aspiring young performing arts students. Students, ages 4 and up will perform on Friday June 6, 2008 at East Lee County High School located at 715 Thomas Sherwin Avenue, in Lehigh Acres, Florida. The doors will open at 6:30pm, the showcase will begin promptly at 7:00pm. Students will perform dance forms such as Modern, African, Hip Hop, Ballet, and liturgical dance interpretations. They will also showcase their theatre and oratory skills by performing dramatic monologues, dialogues, and poetry.

Ticket price will be $5.00. All proceeds from ticket sales benefit the non-profit school and provide scholarships for students to attend classes offered by the school. For more information call Ms. Sharon at 239 839-1773. Check out a flyer.

I would like to send a deep heartfelt THANK YOU! As you know Colours has been culturally active in our community for the past twelve (12) years. The participants worked hard and your support, and attendance to the Maafa Suite 2008 production was truly an encouragement to all who participated. We thank you wholeheartedly for your encouragement, time and generosity. In the SPIRIT of the Arts and culture, thanks again!

Colours on Fox4News with Wild Bill

It’s crunch time! The production is in 2 and 1/2 weeks! Tickets are available at the East Lee County High School Box
office on Thursdays and Fridays from 2:00 pm to 7:00pm. We encourage you to get your tickets in advance!

The youth will be showing Wild Bill of Fox4News a sampling of what to expect. We will be on the show on Thursday morning
02/08/08 @ 7:00 am. Tune in if you can.

Urgent Lehigh News! MAAFA 2008 Tickets on sale at East Lee County High School

Our African Heritage Celebration will be at East Lee County High
School on Saturday February 23 at 7:00 pm and Sunday February 24 at
5:00 pm.

Tickets are available at the East Lee County High School Box
Office on every Thursday and Friday in the month of February
from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Colours Happenings

Here we are deep in the hustle of the fall season. Here is our
fall schedule of classes that will begin October 1st, 2007.
Colours will be offering classes to the public at the Lehigh Acres Middle School. We will host our Open House on Thursday, September 27th and Friday, September 28th 2007 from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. This will be your opportunity to Register for classes, meet and greet instructors, and get questions answered about what Colours will be offering for the 2007/2008 School year.

Even if you can not make it, please check out our current schedule and read about our classes.
